DEFENDING champions, FC Platinum, are hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they host league debutants Simba Bhora at Mandava Stadium this Saturday.
FC Platinum have been a pale shadow of the side that has dominated the league in the past four seasons having lost to Yadah and Sheasham at home this season.
Last weekend’s defeat to new boys Sheasham cast some doubts over defending champions FC Platinum’s pedigree to stay in touch with log leaders Highlanders.
The defeat at home saw Norman Mapeza’s side dropping to 6th position on the log standings, 11 points adrift pacesetters Highlanders.
The Platinum miners have also gone for three matches without a win with their one-nil loss to Yahah at Mandava stadium followed by a nil-all draw away to Hwange and the two-one home defeat by Sheasham.
Pure Platinum Play are, however, eager to put behind their poor form and dismantle Shamva-based Simba Bhora at Mandava.
“Despite our poor run of form in previous encounters, we are ready to work on new things. We sat down as a team and identified areas where we need to improve and I think we have managed to work on those areas during our training sessions. This is a pivotal game for us and we are looking forward to a fruitful outing,” said FC Platinum head coach, Norman Mapeza.
It is trying times for FC Platinum who have won just once in their last five PSL matches, scoring just three goals in the period.
