The world football governing body, FIFA, has appointed a Normalisation Committee to run the affairs of the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) after Zimbabwe’s suspension from international football was lifted yesterday.
The normalisation committee was announced by FIFA’s head of
development programmes in Africa, Solomon Mudege at a news conference in Harare.
Former Dynamos chairperson, Lincoln Mutasa will lead the Normalisation Committee with the other members being, former Highlanders centre-back and FIFA graduate, Sikhumbuzo Ndebele, former mighty warriors captain and coach, Rosemary Mugadza and legal practitioner Nyasha Tashinga Sanyamandwe.
Over and above running the daily affairs of ZIFA, the committee will restructure the ZIFA administration and establish a collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Sport, the SRC and ZIFA, which will define the responsibilities and objectives of each party.
The committee has been given a one-year mandate to run the affairs of ZIFA and organise elections.
