Bulawayo giants Highlanders host bitter rivals, Dynamos in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter at Barbourfields Stadium this Thursday, with Bosso determined to continue with their seven-year dominance over their adversaries.
The two giants of Zimbabwe football meet on Africa Day in a rescheduled match day five fixture that was moved forward to pave the way for the Uhuru Challenge Cup final.
The two giants started the season on a high, but have somewhat stuttered in the past few weeks having all played out to draws in their last three matches.
Bosso and Dembare are also struggling in front of goal with Dynamos failing to score in their last three encounters, while Highlanders have found the back of the net only once in that period.
However, the two giants usually reserve their best football for the battle of Zimbabwe with the first instalment set for this Thursday at Babourfields Stadium in Bulawayo.
Bosso hold a slight edge over DeMbare since 2018, a period during which they have not lost to their rivals.
They have also found a way to win a Barbourfields Stadium with the one-nil scoreline being the most common.
Highlanders are also walking with a spring in their step after beating Dynamos in the Uhuru Challenge Cup 4-3 on penalties with the match having ended nil-all in regulation time.
The giants have significant injury worries going into the big match with Dynamos missing the services of captain Frank Makarati, while Highlanders will be without playmaker Devine Mhindirira.
On the same day, struggling Herentals will host Hwange at the National Sports Stadium with the two teams separated by just a single point on the log table.
