UNBEATEN log leaders CAPS United face a stern test of character when they clash with defending Champions FC Platinum in a castle lager Premier Soccer League encounter set for the National Sports Stadium this Sunday.
CAPS United have had a rare good start to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season and are unbeaten in four outings while FC Platinum have already tasted defeat.
Makepekepe beat Manica Diamonds, ZPC Kariba and Black Rhinos and earned a valuable point away from bogey side Ngezi Platinum.
FC Platinum will however be CAPS United’s biggest test as the two sides share a history based on mutual respect and yet fierce rivalry.
Head coach Lloyd Chitembwe is satisfied with the team’s performance so far and is hoping for more of the same come Sunday.
“I can only be happy with the contributions of each member of the team but the fact that the season is in its infancy and one can only imagine if you go up to more than 10 matches it makes players and teams better so if these boys are capable of giving us what we have seen in the first four games what will happen after more matches?
“We have to ensure that we have the capacity to remain consistent because this is the difference between a top player and a top team because a top player brings moments and obviously gives consistency which we are expecting, yes the boys have done well but there’s a long way to go,” he said.
The Platinum miners, on the other hand, would want to prove that they are still the team to beat as they defend their title.
The much-awaited fixture which has high hopes of being a mouthwatering clash is slated for the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
