THE Zimbabwe senior netball team, the Gems, began their Spar Diamond Challenge Cup campaign on a losing note after succumbing a 55-50 defeat to South Africa’s President’s XII this Tuesday.
The diamond challenge which began this Tuesday is currently underway in Pretoria South Africa and will end this Saturday.
The Gems however will meet South Africa this Wednesday afternoon in their second encounter.
Zimbabwe is competing against Scotland and hosts South Africa who are fielding two sides, the Spar Proteas and the President’s XII.
The Gems are targeting to build up a competitive team as they prepare for the 2023 Netball World Cup which will be staged in Cape Town, South Africa.
