Zimbabwe failed to keep the momentum of making history by grabbing their first Super 12 win over Pakistan, after they lost to bitter rivals Bangladesh.
The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first against Zimbabwe and set the Chevrons a target of 151 runs for victory.
The Chevrons had a disastrous start but recovered with Sean Williams on the crease who brought up his tenth T20 half century while Ryan Burl supported him.
Williams soon departed with Zimbabwe needing guidance.
The Chevrons needed 16 runs off the last over but they were only able to get 13 and lost by 3 runs.
The Chevrons will meet Netherlands on Wednesday before taking India in their fifth and final super 12 encounter.
