Chapungu Queens closed the gap on log leaders Herentals after they secured a one-nil win over MSU in the Women’s Super League over the weekend.
It was an action-packed weekend in the Women’s Super League as Chapungu kept alive their chances of challenging for honours after beating MSU one-nil at Manyame Air Base Sports Club.
The army side, which has declared its intention for a second spot finish, got the goal through dependable goal poacher Ethel Chinyerere.
Second-placed Black Rhinos Queens were held nil-all by Faith Drive at Nyamaruru Grounds in Mutare, while Correctional Queens beat Borrow Jets 2-1 at Chikurubi Training Deport Stadium.
Samukelisiwe Zulu and Marjory Nyaumwe were on target for Correctional Queens while left footer Peacemore Kenende scored Borrow Jets’ consolation.
The match between Scorpion Queens and Conduit Soccer Academy was a walkover in favour of Conduit Soccer Academy with the visitors collecting 3 points on a 3-nil scoreline.
Harare City and Yadah Queens played to a nil-all stalemate at Dzivarasekwa Stadium.
