SHAMVA based side, Simba Bhora have earned promotion into the Premier Soccer League after beating Commando Bullets 3-nil to be crowned ZIFA Northern Region Division 1 champions this Saturday.
It was a dream come true for local football fans who have been longing for premiership action at their backyard, and it is the ambitious side, Simba Bhora who have delivered just that for the first time in the history of Shamva.
Well before the game, the local fans were optimistic and at the end the terraces of Wadzanai Stadium were shaken as reality sunk that premiership action is coming to Shamva for the first time.
“We need to meet the standards of the premiership requirements as there are things that need to be done. The grand stands and terraces should be in proper order so that is what we the directors of Simba Bhora are doing,” said Simba Bhora vice president, MrsTonderai Ndoro
A 3-nil victory over Commando Bullets sealed a memorable season for Simba Bhora, who have invested a lot over the years in their bid to win promotion.
With big guns in the premiership such as Dynamos, Caps United, Highlanders and FC Platinum now set to be coming to Shamva, the task is now on Simba Bhora to spruce up Wadzanai Stadium to meet PSL standards.
