Chibuku Super Cup quarter finals build up

By Anashe Murombedzi

UNPREDICTABLE Herentals are confident of their chances of making it to the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals when they take on Manica Diamonds in the last eight this weekend.

The students are on an assignment to get rid of Manica Diamonds in the prestigious Chibuku Super Cup when the two teams meet in a quarter-final encounter set for the National Sports Stadium this Saturday.

Herentals are hoping to add more misery on the Ngoda Boys with Manica Diamonds still recovering from a morale-shuttering one-nil loss at home to Chicken Inn in the league.

“Our preparations have started very well against Manica Diamonds and we hope to progress to the semi-finals and we are determined to progress because we have never been there and it will be a greater achievement for us,” said Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva, Herentals coach.

“I normally deal with progression. We know it is going to be a tight match which I face as a coach. It’s going to be a 50/50 game and it is a knock out tournament and any team can win, so I am encouraging my boys to bring up the good work of the game and minimise mistakes, defend and take chances so that we get to the next level.”

Herentals are also hoping to capitalise on home advantage and better last season’s performance in the Cup when they reached the semi-finals.
