Zim firms at Birmingham Fair confident of clinching lucrative deals

ZIMBABWEAN firms who participated at the 2022 Birmingham Autumn Fair are confident of clinching lucrative deals in the United Kingdom market.

The fair attracts companies which are into crafts and other creative items such as toys and gifts.

Those who participated at this year’s event have expressed optimism of better returns considering overwhelming response from the United Kingdom market.

“It’s our first time exhibiting here and the response has been fantastic. It gives us energy to work hard to ensure that we satisfy the UK market. We appreciate what ZimTrade has done in terms of creating these opportunities,” said Ms Chido Kaseke-PatCh Zimbabwe .

“The fair provides a networking opportunity which gives new ideas in terms of expanding the business and we believe we have struck the right code by coming here,” noted Ms Chido Dhuba-Dhuba Enterprises.

ZimTrade Client Advisor Nozipho Maphala said exciting times lie ahead for companies that participated at this year’s fair in terms of orders secured.

“This is Zimbabwe’s maiden appearance at the fair. As ZimTrade, we are encouraged by the response from the buyers in this market, sustainability has been a key issue in addition to uniqueness of the products. This tells that we are on the right track in terms of securing a huge market share in UK. Some of the exhibitors we have here have secured much orders. We had them talk about distribution, we also encourage producers back home to sustainably produce their products to ensure they match international standards,” she said.

Zimbabwean firms are relishing export opportunities across the globe as the Second Republic has come up with tailor-made policies that promote growth of small enterprises, with women being prioritised to ensure they secure international markets for their products.

The Birmingham Autumn Fair attracted international hotel brands, small to medium entrepreneurs and individuals from across the globe with a view to promoting creativity within the crafts industry.
