TEAM Zimbabwe for the Zone Six Darts championships has intensified preparations ahead of the tournament set for Namibia from the 29th of August to the 3rd of September.
Going into the regional tournament as the defending champions, Team Zimbabwe is aware of the task at hand.
A 22-member contingent comprising 18 players and four officials is expected to leave the country for Namibia on Friday evening with the Darts mother body racing against time to put everything in order.
“The trip to Namibia is still on as planned. We expect to depart on Friday. All loose ends should be tied by Wednesday. We are a contingent of 22 officials. As the defending champions we expect stiff competition as everyone will be after our crown,” said Maynard Moyo – President National Darts Association of Zimbabwe.
The country is banking on the experienced pair of Basil Green and Peter Mulukula in the men’s section while Tabeth Zhoya, Sibabone Mamwiri and Bell Manda are expected to provide enough cover in the ladies category.
Zimbabwe will compete against four other countries Botswana, Zambia, Eswatini and hosts Namibia.
