ZIMBABWEAN female boxing sensation, Kudakwashe Chiwandire is in South Africa as she intensifies preparations for her first major title defence against Zulina Munoz of Mexico on the first of October in Harare.
Although the much anticipated fight has been deferred by a month, World Boxing Council Super Bantamweight interim champion Kudakwashe Chiwandire is not letting her guard down.
Chiwandire is training with other boxers from South Africa as she aims to be in the best possible shape against a much experienced opponent.
“I now feel the ginger that I’m ready for a fight, I have been training and now I can’t wait to be in the ring because I mean serious business. I hope to continue to lift my country’s flag high. I assure the fans that the belt is not going anywhere, this is its home,” she said.
The World Boxing Council Super Bantamweight title fight will take place at the Harare International Conference Centre on the 1st of October.
Affectionately known as Take Money, Chiwandire was the first female Zimbabwean boxer to lift a WBC title after beating Catherine Phiri of Zambia in February this year.
She is up against Zulina Munoz of Mexico in her title defence.
