CUT, Chartered Accountants Academy sign MOU

THE Chinhoyi University of Technology and the Chartered Accountants Academy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding which is expected to fulfill the requirements of the Education 5.0 model for tertiary institutions..

The Memorandum of Understanding signed between Chinhoyi University of Technology and the Chartered Accountants Academy seeks to fulfil the dictates of the Chartered accountants Education 5.0 model which puts emphasis on results based teaching and learning.

The model is also inclined towards production of goods and provision of services.

Students from the University’s School of Entrepreneurship and Business Sciences will be the main beneficiaries of the agreement.

Chartered Accountants Academy Chief Executive Officers, Mr Anesu Daka believes the signing of the agreement with the university will enable students to practically apply what they would have learnt .

The significance of this relationship is underpinned by the fact that Zimabwe now emphasises on the 5.0 model . We believe the process will allow students to see and be able to apply what they would have learnt, It’s industry focussed competence learning,” he said.

CUT Acting Vice Chancellor, profe3ssor Irvine Mpofu said the institution now wants to concentrate on tangibles as dictated by the university council.

The Dean of the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Sciences, profess3or Marian Tukuta underscored the need for the institution to forge partnerships with other professional bodies.

“Council challenged us the executive  that we must have strategic partnerships and the partnerships are supposed to be real,” said Prof Mpofu.

The academia should work hand in hand with with other professional bodies. We need to promote the professional and theoretical aspects . This gives students the comparative advantage,” added Prof Tukuta

Chartered Accountants from Zimabwe are sought after the world over.
