BULAWAYO giants Highlanders are hoping to continue with their revival under Portuguese Coach Baltemer Brito when they host unpredictable Manica Diamonds at Babourfields Stadium this weekend.

After clocking a month in charge of Highlanders, Portuguese expatriate, Baltemer Brito has heaped praises on his charges for responding positively to his new style of play.

Speaking at a media briefing in Bulawayo this Thursday, the 70-year-old Coach implored his charges to maintain the tempo and rise to the occasion when they face wounded Manica Diamonds.

“It is exactly a month and five weeks since we started our work . We do not believe in easy game, instead the players should make our game against Manica an easy tie. From the analysis that we had on our opponents, Manica are a good side with good players and their defence is compact but the boys are raring to go, said Baltermer Jose de oliveira Brito, Highlanders Technical Manager.

Highlanders players, Muziwakhe Dlamini and Godknows Makaruse are equally determined to continue with their fine form.

Meanwhile, Highlanders have defended their move to extend a begging bowl for the CEO’s laptop saying it resonates with the club licensing policy.

“Look, we are grateful to our sponsors for bailing us out . We felt that since the club is a community team , let us give the custodians of the team that responsibility as it was not going to be fair to burden our usual benefactors. We have approached various corporates to assist us in various ways but we can’t go public about it and that leaked letter was for a certain section of the fans, explained Highlanders Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Moyo.

Away from the boardroom drama, Highlanders have made room for new signings after offloading out of form striker Keith Mavunga.
