PREPARATIONS for the Zimbabwe Tertiary Sports Union (ZTISU) games slated for Hillside Teachers College in Bulawayo are progressing well, with the local organising committee having secured venues for all the sport codes.
A gateway to the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA) games, the ZTISU sports competition which incorporates three sub associations will be held at Hillside Teachers College from July 13 to July 16.
The local organising committee is confident of hosting a successful sporting extravaganza based on their sound preparations.
“We have had our preparatory meetings as per our traditions. We recently held the technical meeting to devise the fixtures and pools for the teams and we are happy with the level of preparedness. We have secured all the venues for our various sport codes, said Edward Chekure ZTISU president.
After getting a rare opportunity to stage the games, the host college is also upbeat of taking advantage of the platform to showcase their sporting prowess.
“We are happy to be holding these games. As a college we really are hopeful that we will actually put our best foot forward and the students themselves will actually have an opportunity to showcase their talent,” said Linda Sibindi Hillside Teachers College Principal.
The ZTISU games will be followed by the CUCSA games set for Lilongwe, Malawi from the 28th of August to the 3rd of September.
