Harare giants Caps United finally managed to win after edging city rivals Harare City 2-1 at the National Sports Stadium.
A brace by top goal scorer William Manondo made sure the green machine walked away with the victory even though the Sunshine City boys later found a face saver.
The first goal by William Manondo also meant that Makepekepe finally managed to find the back of the net after a six-match barren spell.
While Caps United is hoping that the win will spur them on to better things for Harare City it’s trouble as they are now winless in six matches.
In the top of the table clash at Luveve Sadium, defending Champions FC Platinum signalled their intent after thumping hosts Chicken Inn three nil.
An easy brace by red hot Walter Musona and another one by Nomore Chinyerere just before half time took FC Platinum to the top of the log.
The Platinum miners are undefeated in their last six matches having scored 15 goals and conceding none in that period.
In other matches, Black Rhinos beat Herentals 2-1 at their new home ground Vhengere Stadium in Rusape, while Yadah continued with their resurgence after beating ZPC Kariba one-nil at Nyamhunga Stadium in Kariba.
This Sunday, Dynamos will look to keep pace with FC Platinum at the top of the log when they take on Triangle at the National Sports Stadium.
An interesting match is lined up for Baobab Stadium as Ngezi Platinum host Highlanders as Manica Diamonds welcome troubled Bulawayo City at Sakubva stadium.
A Correctional Services Derby is lined up for Ascot Stadium in Gweru as Whawha takes on Tenax and the last match if the day will see Bulawayo Chiefs who are undefeated in their last nine matches taking on Cranborne Bullets who have struggled in their debut season in the Premier Soccer league.
