By Anashe Murombedzi

DEFENDING champions Black Rhinos Queens maintained their unbeaten run after a convincing 3-0 victory over Yadah Queens in a Women Super League match played at Yadah grounds in Harare this Wednesday.

The victory propelled the defending champions to second, with 21 points from seven matches, a point behind log leaders Chapungu who have played a game more.

The star studded army side took an early lead after Mighty Warriors star, Christabel Katona found the back of the net four minutes into the game before Shyline Magarira added another 14 minutes later.

Yadah Queens on the other end had chances to get back into the game but Rhinos were resolute in defence.

Another national team player Daisy Kaitano put the gloss on the result with a spectacular strike in added time as Rhinos bagged all 3 points away from home for their seventh victory on the trot.

Black Rhinos Assistant Coach Dorothy Mugari was delighted with their 3-nil victory as they look ahead to a duel against log leaders Chapungu in their next match.

“I am very happy with our results as they show we are in form and we hope in out next match against Chapungu we will get 3 points again,” she said.

Disappointed Yadah Queens are hoping to turn things around in their next match.

That’s football , sometimes you win sometimes you lose. We lost due to a few mistakes which we will correct to prepare for the next match and bring good results, said Yadah Queens Coach, Wayne Kapare.

Meanwhile, Harare City won 3-2 against Faithdrive Academy at the National Sports Stadium.
