Afghanistan continued with their fine run after thumping Zimbabwe by six wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the cricket T20 three match series at Harare Sports Club this Saturday.
Going to the match the Chevrons won the toss and opted to bat first to post a total of 159 runs in a completion of 20 overs sending the visitors to a 160-run target for a win.
Afghanistan replied with a huge blow as the target was never a threat after batting
134 runs for a loss of 4 wickets in 17.2 overs.
The visitors became aggressive as they needed 26 runs in 16 balls.
At the end, the tourists labored to a six-wicket victory and the first three match series taking all ten points for the day.
Afghanistan are 110 points while Zimbabwe remain second from the bottom of the 12th team Super League.
Zimbabwe’s chances of earning a ticket to India are getting slimmer while they need to make a turnover to bag more points to squeeze in for the World Cup.
