Local airline, KUVA Air, which flew into Hwange National Park Airport for the first time this Wednesday, has been described as a game changer for the tourism industry.
The water cannon salute was a moment in sync with the excitement of players in the tourism sector.
“We have been waiting for this for a very long time,” said James Kuwanda, a tour operator.
“This is a game changer for us. When an airline cones like this, it means our sector gets a huge boost,” noted safari operator, Chris Dube.
“The tourism sector is not complete without a consistent airline. When this happens, we are confident we are going somewhere and it only points at growth,” Wilson Nsimango, another tour operator, commented.
The regulator Airports Company of Zimbabwe and the airline are optimistic that good times lie ahead for the tourism sector and those who seek to explore destination Zimbabwe.
Airports Company of Zimbabwe marketing manager Sarudzai Muza said, “We want to see such airlines expanding to places such as Masvingo and many others. We want to see our tourism grow and we want people to travel efficiently.”
Kuva Air Marketing Executive, Daryl Dzapasi, said, “We are here to aid those who want to travel and experience Zimbabwe. We will take them and we believe we will grow.”
A boost to the tourism sector, the arrival of the airline that will fly from Harare through Hwange to Victoria Falls answers the call of many players in the industry who have longed for a reliable airline.
