Herentals plot giant killing act

By Anashe Murombedzi

HERENTALS are plotting to heap more misery on troubled Harare giants, Dynamos when the two teams clash in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match set for the National Sports Stadium this Sunday.

The Glamour Boys are still recovering from their ill-fated game against Highlanders which was abandoned in added time due to crowd trouble with Dynamos trailing one-nil.

As if to add insult to injury the Dynamos Ccamp has been hit by turmoil after the suspension of coach Tonderai Ndiraya with his case yet to be finalised.

The match against Herentals is one that the Harare giants would love to win at least to put their campaign back on track, but it will not be an easy task against a side that is plotting a giant killing act.

The students are not leaving any stone un-turned in their preparations for the match against DeMbare, with coach, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva saying they are confident of their chances.

“Dynamos is a big team and everyone is motivated to face them, so we are ready as a team. We are still preparing for the tie. I expect them to play well like what they did against FC Platinum, Chicken Inn and Bulawayo Chiefs, so if they continue with their zeal, they will win matches. When you face big teams you need to be confident at the same time working hard because big teams are intimidating, so they have to be confident,” he said.

Herentals defender, Gibson Chinobva is equally self-assured.

“Going to this match we are not fearless. At the same time, bullish Dynamos is a big team and we are being viewed as underdogs, so we’re preparing carefully and concentrating and we must not fear the brand, but compete at our best,” he said.

Herentals are eighth on the log with 22 points, eight behind their opponents who lie second with 30 points.

Dynamos will be hoping for the best with assistant coaches, Naison Muchekela and Gift Muzadzi holding fort in Ndiraya’s absence.

Meanwhile, sources at CAPS United indicate that the house is on fire once again amid revelations that players are not getting their dues.

Efforts to get a comment from CAPS United were fruitless with the club saying they do not hold media briefings when they are playing away.
