By Lawrence Trusida

FIFTEEN-year-old amateur Keegan Shutt joined 12 other local golfers in making the cut at the ongoing FBC Zim Open golf tournament in Harare.

Shutt joins 12 other local golfers who will be vying for a chance to win the ZAR2 million prize money and the coveted open trophy.

“It was a difficult time on the course, I started badly but I managed to come back better in the last nine holes and I am happy to be here and hope to carry on and see how far I can go,” he said.

Ryan Cairns is the leading local golfer so far at three under, Nyasha Muyambo, while Brian Gondo are at one under, with Simon Katembenuka and Shaahid Mahmed at one over.

Champion golfer Robson Chinhoyi, who a lot was expected, barely made the cut at two over joining the young Shutt.

South African Luca Fillipi is on top of the leaderboard at eleven under, while his fellow countryman Louis de Jager is at six under while Zambian Madalitso Muthiya is a close third at five under.

After using two courses, the final two rounds will all be at the traditional home of the open, the Royal Harare Golf club.
