Zim Open tournament roars into life this Thursday

LOCAL golfers are getting ready for the Zimbabwe Open tournament which roars to life this Thursday in Harare.
After a four year absence, the country’s premier golf showpiece returns this Thursday at Chapman Golf Club and Royal Harare.
Local golfers are already taking part in the pre-qualifier play-offs.
“We are excited that we got everything under control as today we started the pre-qualifiers which will determine the top qualifiers and will go on tomorrow and Wednesday while the tournament tees off this Thursday at Royal Harare. All the preparations have gone smoothly and we are excited to host the country’s biggest event,” said Martin Chikwanha, Zimbabwe Golf Association President.
192 golfers will battle for honours in the Zimbabwe Open, with 96 of them competing at Chapman Golf Club while the other half will tee off at Royal Harare.
The Top 60 golfers will progress to the final set for this weekend.
The Sunshine tour, bankrolled by FBC Holdings, will also be good game time for golfers ahead of the DB World Tour.
