Bosso seek to bounce back to winning ways

BULAWAYO giants, Highlanders are hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they lock horns with ambitious Bulawayo Chiefs in another derby set for Babourfields stadium this weekend.

Despite drawing first blood in their last two matches against defending champions FC Platinum and second placed Chicken Inn, Highlanders have been found wanting as they eventually surrendered their lead, owing to a porous defence.

Highlanders Technical Manager, Mandla Mpofu says the boys are alive to the fact that they have been dropping points of late, hence the need to bounce back to winning ways.

“We have been playing well, scoring first only to surrender our lead. So we are saying we need to start collecting maximum points. Bulawayo chiefs bolstered their squad and the boys are familiar with each other but it will not be an easy encounter,” he said.

Bosso Captain, Ariel Sibanda is also upbeat they will rise to the occasion come Sunday.

“As players, we had our team talk to say look it is a derby but we need maximum points. Everyone is ready for the challenge. Defensively, we have not been doing well so we have been working on that,” noted Sibanda.

Highlanders will miss the services of the versatile Rahman Kutsanzira and Vice-captain, Nqobizitha Masuku, while pint sized Ray Lunga and midfielder Adrian Silla will have to pass a late fitness test.
