Hwange FC on course for a quick return

By Mhlomuli Ncube

FORMER Premier Soccer League side, Hwange who are on track for a quick return to the topflight face a stern test of character when they square off with Arenel in a top of the table clash in the Southern Region Division one league this Saturday.

It has been a fairy tale run for Hwange who have continued with their rampage under Caretaker Coach, Brian Ndlovu after the departure of Bongani Mafu for Ngezi Platinum Stars.

“I cannot even single out one person, it is teamwork. Everyone is working hard in this team and we are happy,” said Hwange FC Caretaker Coach, Brian Ndlovu.

After 16 rounds of matches, Hwange have 36 points, three ahead of Arenel who have played a game more, and a win for Chipangano will see them consolidating their position at the top of the log standings.

ZPC Hwange are third after playing 15 games, while Talen Vision are fourth, having played 16 games.

It is however a completely different story for Zimbabwe Saints who anchor the log standings with only two wins and two draws.

In other Southern region division one matches set for this weekend, Quality Foods have a date with Indonsakusa at White City stadium in Bulawayo, Ajax Hotspurs play Binga Pirates, while Bosso 90 clash against Zimbabwe Saints at White City on Saturday.

Still on Saturday, ZPC Hwange play Main Line in Hwange, with action set to continue on Sunday as Makhandeni Pirates play Talen Vision, while Mountain Climbers have a date Casmyn at White City B Arena in Bulawayo.
