STRUGGLING ZPC Kariba who had another poor outing at the weekend, have joined the early candidates for relegation as the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League heads to the half way stage.
With just four matches left before the Castle Lager Premier soccer league reaches the halfway stage the going is getting tough for ZPC Kariba, Yadah, WhaWha and Bulawayo City who are slowly confirming their status as early candidates for relegation.
With 13 games played, Bulawayo City anchor the log standings with 6 points after a one-nil loss to Bulawayo Chiefs at the weekend.
It is also not looking good for Whawha whose sensational victory over title chasing Chicken Inn sounds more like a distant memory after their 2-1 loss to Dynamos reminded them that tough times lie ahead for the team which is second from the bottom with just 8 points.
While the other teams in the relegation zone might not surprise many, what is happening at ZPC Kariba is as shocking as it is disappointing for a well funded team that once fought neck to neck with Dynamos for the League title in 2014.
ZPC Kariba have also become a pale shadow of themselves and the clock is ticking for Coach Godfrey Tamirepi who is overseeing defeat after defeat each weekend with the team lying third from the base with a paltry 10 points from 13 matches following a one-nil defeat by Manica Diamonds.
Yadah completes the bottom four with 12 points but theirs has become daily bread as they are known for fighting for survival each season.
Meanwhile, Dynamos have opened a 2-point gap at the top with 29 points after yet another victory at the weekend while Chicken Inn remain second despite dropping points in the one-all draw with Highlanders.
The top four remains the same with Triangle United third on 24 points, while Manica Diamonds are fourth with 23 points.
The trio of Ngezi Platinum, Black Rhinos and Herentals have 20 points each, with defending champions FC Platinum completing the top 8 with 19 points.
CAPS United whose house is fire once again after a forgettable weekend during which their financial problems came back to haunt them are tied on 17 points with Bulawayo chiefs, a point above Cranborne Bullets who are 11th.
Highlanders have not moved much after their draw with Chicken as they lie 12th with 15 points, the same as Harare City who collected maximum points away to Ngezi Platinum.
