GHANAIAN striker Emmanuel Paga is leading Dynamos’ quest for a first Premier Soccer League title since 2014 after finding the back of the net five times since joining the club this year.
The 22-year-old striker joined DeMbare in the last transfer window from Ghanaian Second Division Side Vision FC and made his debut in the nil-all draw against FC Platinum on the 19th of February.
Since that fateful day, the nimble-footed forward has gone on to show his class and scored his first goal in the two-nil victory over Bulawayo Chiefs and up to now Paga has found the back of the net five times in nine premier league matches.
The Ghanaian, who has been an instant heat in the team, is now a permanent feature in the Dynamos line up and since making his debut, DeMbare has only failed to win once.
Paga has already struck a good understanding with DeMbare’s new golden boy Bill Antonio as the two are usually deployed together upfront.
Paga’s form is slowly reminding the club’s faithfuls of some of the great imports they have had, including his compatriot George Owusu who was a key component of the Dynamos 1998 CAF Champions League campaign where he scored four goals, including one in the final they later lost to Asec Mimosa.
The Glamour boys have a rich history with foreigners who include Zambian Sandros Kumwenda who used to put a shift in the heart of the midfield from 1998 till the early 2000s.
Zambian players have been generally good at Dynamos; who can forget diminutive forward Clive Mwale who scored many goals for the Glamour Boys, with his most famous goal being the one he scored at Mucheke stadium on the final day of the 2005 season that helped Dynamos survive relegation and denied Masvingo United the league title.
In recent times, Christian Epoupa reminded everyone of Dynamos touch with foreigners after he scored 12 goals, guiding the club to a second place finish in 2017.
These are just but some of the exploits of foreign nationals that are making Dynamos fans believe Paga might just be the man to lead them to the Promised Land.
