Uhuru Cup clash beckons

BULAWAYO giants, Highlanders are confident of winning the Uhuru Cup with Mandla Mpofu’s charges hoping to celebrate Independence in style.

Highlanders are bubbling with confidence as they prepare for a titanic battle against bitter rivals, Dynamos in the Uhuru Cup at Bourbafields Stadium on Independence Day.

Speaking before the match, Bosso Head Coach Mandla Mpofu said they are hungry for silverware.

“We have to take this Cup and the boys are looking forward to the game with a renewed spirit so we are promising our fans the best game,” he said.

The Bulawayo giants have a clean bill of health save for Ray Lunga, who is nursing a minor knock.

Their opponents, Dynamos have also promised fireworks and are determined to bring the cup back to the capital.

“We are ready, we respect this Cup and we are the holders and we want to make sure we come back with this trophy back to Harare,” said Dynamos Coach, Tonderai Ndiraya.

The Bosso – DeMbare clash is expected to light up the Independence celebrations at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo on Monday as the country’s biggest clubs battle for the coveted trophy.
