ZIMBABWE’S Under-21 women’s hockey team succumbed to an 18-nil loss to Netherlands in their final Pool A match at the ongoing Junior World Cup in South Africa this Monday.
Having won their opening match with a 2-1 victory over Canada, Zimbabwe were stripped off their winning tag by United States in their second match after a 5-nil defeat.
Things went from bad to worse after an 18-nil defeat by tournament favourites Netherlands this Monday.
Netherlands are through to the quarter-finals as group winners while Zimbabwe will only know of their fate after the United States – Canada match.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarter finals.
