Kwangwa targets silverware with English team

ZIMBABWE National Team Captain, Felisitus Kwangwa is delighted with her progress at Surrey Storm in England’s Vitality Netball Super League where she has emerged as one of the team’s key players.

Kwangwa made history when she signed for England based Surrey Storm last year, becoming the first Zimbabwean to feature in the Vitality Super League.

However, her first season was somewhat lukewarm and there were even fears that she might not be retained for a second stint after initially signing a one year contract.

The team, however, saw her potential and after a contract extension, she has started to prove her worth featuring in the starting line up in seven of the 10 matches the team has played so far.

Her good start has also rubbed off the team which is fifth on the log after Surrey Storm was almost relegated last season.

“Last year, there were a lot of changes at the club and we didn’t settle well but now we are better. We have jelled and i am hoping to win the cup and we still have a chance,” said Kwangwa.

Kwangwa made 19 appearances last season but only started two matches, with the others being cameo roles.

However, it has been a different story this season, with the Gems Captain a vital cog of the team.
