DYNAMOS Chairman, Benard Marriot Lusengo has made stunning revelations about the ownership and administration of the country’s most successful club.
This comes after the appointment of a Dynamos Board of Trustees that Marriot has dismissed as null and void.
The development was met with contempt by the current Board Chairman, Bernard Mariot-Lusengo, who dismissed the event as a legal nullity.
The borne of the contention is around the club’s 1963 Constitution which was the basis for the election of a new Board of Trustees led by Ernest Kamba.
While Lusengo acknowledges the 1963 Constitution, he argues that it was repealed in 1999 and replaced with new articles of association when Dynamos was registered as a private company.
“The Board Members that registered the company in 1999 were Akende, Chiminya, Alois Musikana and myself. In 1963 as the Constitution stipulates, we were players but in retirement, we became former players and we met ourselves as former players and now these guys are taking advantage of that,” said Marriot.
He also addressed the club’s shareholding structure and how they were distributed.
“At a meeting held on the 22nd of January 2017, shares were distributed by the Directors of Dynamos Football Club and the owners of Dynamos and they were distributed based on the resolutions of the board and no director offered themselves shares, they were distributed,” he added.
The board room squabbles are not new to Dynamos with founding members and former players battling for control of the local football giant.
The latest episode comes at a time when there was relative peace and order at the club after they sealed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Sakunda Holdings.
