THE Mighty Warriors are hoping to get past Botswana and book a place at the Africa Women Cup of Nations, when the two teams clash this Friday at the National Sports Stadium in the first leg of the final qualifiers.
Botswana is one of the sides that the Mighty Warriors have played against many times, having met 15 times and winning a whopping 12 matches while only losing three times.
The two teams last met in October at the COSAFA Women’s championship with Zimbabwe winning three-nil.
The Mighty Warriors who have five foreign-based players in camp are hoping the extra game time the girls have been having will be an added advantage.
“The experience and extra game time that the foreign players have will be key for us, the good thing is that all the girls are the core of our team,” said Mighty Warriors Coach, Sithethelelwe Sibanda.
The match kicks-off at 3pm at the National Sports Stadium, with the return leg set for the 23rd of this month in Botswana.
