PSL slams suspension letters to league governors

The Premier Soccer League has broken its silence over the ZIFA fiasco after condemning the letters of suspension given to some of the league governors by the suspended ZIFA board.

In a statement, the PSL denounced the purported suspensions to its Chief Executive Officer Kennedy Ndebele and leaders of Dynamos, Highlanders, Caps United and Manica Diamonds.

The premiership condemned the shocking behaviour taken by the ZIFA board members who themselves are suspended and cannot conduct the association’s affairs.

The PSL also accuses the suspended Zifa board of trying to divide the league, with questions being raised on why PSL chairman Farai Jere, who sits on the Zifa board, was not invited to the board meeting which suspended other clubs’ bosses.

The premiership said an attempt to divide the PSL family will not be tolerated.

The suspended Felton Kamambo-led board wrote letters of suspension to 27 councillors, including the Zifa secretariat and the PSL Governors on various allegations, including calling for an emergency general meeting whose objective was to remove some of the mother body’s executive committee members.
