WARRIORS midfielder Ovidy Karuru, is back in action after scoring his debut goal for Saudi Arabian second division side Al Shoalah in their 2-1 win over Najran this Wednesday.
After going for seven months without kicking the ball, Ovidy Karuru found his way back to the pitch, having found a new home at Saudi Arabian second division side Al Shoalah this February.
The Warriors midfielder is back in action after parting ways with the Limpopo-based side Black Leopards last season.
The lanky former Kaizer Chiefs star was impressive after he scored his debut goal, assisting Al Shoalah to seal a 2-1 win over Najran.
Karuru has become the third Zimbabwean to ply his trade in Saudi Arabia in the last decade after Warriors captain Knowledge Musona and Tendai Ndoro.
The Warriors international will link up with Knowledge Musona, who plays for Saudi Pro League side Al Taai.
In England, Warriors utility player Jordan Zemura’s dream of playing in the English Premiership is set to be fulfilled next season.
This comes after his side Bournemouth’s 3-1 win against Birmingham sealed an automatic promotion to the top flight league.
Zemura will join fellow countryman Marvellous Nakamba.
Their promotion rivals Blackburn suffered a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest this Tuesday which became an advantage for Bournemouth who are now two points ahead.
Warriors’ defender Onismor Bhasera was named man of the match in SuperSport United’s 1-0 win over Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup.
The win will see Kaitano Tembo’s charges progress to the round of 16 of the knockout tournament.
