Councilors condemn Kamambo for calling on FIFA to ban Zimbabwe

THE ZIFA fiasco continues unabated, with suspended councillors and football fans condemning suspended ZIFA chairman, Felton Kamambo, for inviting FIFA sanctions on Zimbabwean football.

Kamambo was barred from attending the Africa Cup of Nations final in Cameroon and he subsequently requested for FIFA’s wrath on Zimbabwean football.

ZIFA Northern Region Division One Chairman Martin Kweza has issued a statement blasting Kamambo’s selfish interests, saying inviting a FIFA ban on local football is disastrous.

“We are going to have our meeting after the 3rd of April and we will definitely pass a resolution to revoke these guys. They have shown to the world that they are not football people, they just want to think about themselves and not football. At the end of the day, football must be the winner and not individuals,” he said.

Football lovers have called Kamambo to order, saying Zimbabwean football is not his personal property.

The world football governing body hasn’t responded yet after they called off ZIFA’s Emergency General Meeting for not following the constitution.

For now, the football family can only wait to see how the ZIFA fiasco will end.
