WOMEN in the productive sector are targeting growth based on synergies to expand their local and regional markets.
To avert the ripple effects of the covid-19 pandemic, the women are this year focusing on collaborations within their different sectors to boost their production lines and the economy.
This Thursday, women in business converged in Bulawayo to deliberate on challenges they faced last year and their expectations and strategies for 2022.
“We want to come together as women in our various fields so that we empower and develop each other,” says buwinesswoman, Beauty Bhulu.
“We are coming in as women saying let’s form groups because it’s easy for one to deliver a project as a group. There is a saying that says alone you can walk fast but together we can walk far. This is what we are aiming,” Sandra Ndebele, Bulawayo Young Women 4 ED chairperson says.
Bekezela Maplanka, Founder of Bulawayo Queens notes: “We have to expand and collaborate as woman so that we grow.”
Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister, Dr Sithembiso Nyoni challenged women in business to take the lead in occupying international business exchange platforms like the Expo 2022 Dubai to accelerate vision 2030.
“We have got several international platforms that we want you to be a part of so that you can accelerate the attainment of vision 2030. Some of these platforms include the Dubai Expo, the Open Africa trade platform,” she said.
Women are key in the development of the nation, hence the second republic’s focus on empowering them through reliable sources of funding.
