‘ZINARA set for massive transformation’

By Davison Vandira

ZIMBABWE’s parastatal reform agenda is shaping up through enhanced efficiency and effectiveness among state owned-entities.

One parastatal that is undergoing robust transformation is the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) to sufficiently support the ongoing Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme and the National Development Strategy One as roads are a key economic enabler.

The recently installed ZINARA Board Chairperson, Dr George Manyaya says a revolution is beckoning in the way the Road Fund will be administered.

“The mandate that we have been given by the president is very straightforward, which is to improve the economy’s well-being through upgrading the country’s road infrastructure to support the economic activities,” Dr Manyaya said.

Dr Manyaya also spelt out the Road Fund administrator’s vision to improve its public appeal through a rebranding exercise.

“We will also be stepping up our efforts to improve our public image to create a sustainable relationship with our key stakeholders.”

The Second Republic’s reform agenda has seen a number of state-owned enterprises registering significant progress, with some declaring massive profits and dividend to government.
