Mushore and Shaba win Zim Open Chess

Takudzwa Mushore and Linda Shaba are basking in glory after winning the Zimbabwe Chess Open which ended in Harare this Wednesday.

Mushore, who won gold in men’s category walked away 1 000 United States Dollars richer and a floating trophy.

Having clashed with the best in the business in the likes of Spencer Masango and Roy Mwadzura, Mushore finished the tournament with six wins and two draws after eight games.

In the ladies section, Linda Shaba pipped Christine Makwena to clinch the coveted crown and walk away with 800 United States dollars over and above a gold medal and a trophy.

The four-day event was graced by 140 players from across the country.
