Triangle United Vice-Captain and goalkeeper Ronald Mudimu, who died on Sunday, has been buried at Zororo Memorial Park in Chitungwiza.

Family, friends and colleagues came out in their numbers to bid farewell to the former young Warriors goalkeeper at Zororo Memorial Park in Chitungwiza this Wednesday.

Mudimu succumbed to a mild stroke on Sunday.

Triangle United skipper and teammate Collins Duwa described Mudimu as a father figure whose leadership qualities were unquestionable.

“He was leader who paved a right path for all of us, he was a counselor, to us he wasn’t a brother he was like a father who had leadership qualities, losing him it’s a huge gap not just for Mudimu family but all of us his teammates and colleagues, “he said.

Head Coach Taurai Mangwiro went down memory lane reminiscing on some of his outstanding performances.

I remember amongst some of his strengths was the issue of penalty taking at some stage in one of the season he was part of the leading goal scorers because of his prowess in scoring from the penalty spot when Triangle United won the One Wallet cup he saved the team from the first round to the finals final against Dynamos, what I remember of him was his dedication of duty,” said Mangwiro.

The Triangle hero also played a key role when the Sugar Boys clinched the 2018 Chibuku Super Cup.

His wife, Irene Ngoshi is grateful for the memorable moments she had with Mudimu with their union being blessed with four children.

“We were always happy with Ronnie until death took him away. I had no complaints .God blessed us with four children and  we achieved a lot and for that  I’m really grateful,” she said.

All the testimonies given pointed to a true sportsman who will be greatly missed.
