Triangle face wounded Dynamos

By Lawrence Trusida

HARARE giants Dynamos are hoping to bounce back from their elimination from the Chibuku super cup when they face Triangle in a Premier Soccer League match set for Gibbo Stadium this Sunday.

The Harare giants lost their first match since the resumption of football in the country after a two-year hiatus caused by the Covid-19 pandemic when they were edged by FC Platinum in the Chibuku Super Cup at the weekend.

The Glamour Boys had been on a mazy run which saw them going on a 12 match unbeaten run.

Dembare will have to endure another 500-kilometre journey to the low Veld following a wild goose chase which saw them returning home without kicking a ball after referees withdrew their services last week.

“We would have preferred to play closer but now as it stands we now will have travelled over 1200km in a short time and coupled with the heat there we really need to be at our best,” said Tonderai Ndiraya, Dynamos coach.

The Dembare gaffer is hoping his charges will overcome the physiological challenges.

“We need to play the game in the head they are a good side and now we coming from a defeat we need to bounce back and also overcome that in the head because we had gone for a long time without a loss,” he said.

Triangle are also hoping to bounce back from a surprise defeat to Bulawayo Chiefs in their season opener.

In the last five meetings between the two sides, Triangle has a slight edge after winning two matches while Dynamos has one win with the other two matches ending in draws.

The two teams have always produced epic encounters whenever they meet and the upcoming match promises to be no different.
