THE Premier Soccer league returns this Tuesday with five matches on the cards as focus shifts to match day two.
Highlanders host free scoring Ngezi Platinum Stars at Barbourfields stadium looking to get their first set of three points.
The Bulawayo giants lost two nil to Black Rhinos in their first league match while the Platinum miners thumped Bulawayo City five nil.
Bosso have been struggling in front of goal and only scored four goals in six Chibuku Cup matches while their next opponents pummeled a whopping sixteen (16) goals during the same period.
However, the Bulawayo giants have a strong defence as they only let in three goals before they were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the cup competition.
Since Ngezi Platinum were promoted into the top flight, the two teams have clashed eight times with Highlanders winning three while Ngezi have two victories with the other three encounters ending in draws.
The home side believes they have what it takes to get their first win.
“We are a good side and we okay gold football, we just need to find ways of getting the goals and it’s a process and I believe tomorrow we will come good,” said Bekithemba Ndlovu, Highlanders Assistant Coach.
Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Rodwell Dhlakama knows too well that it is not easy playing against a wounded Lion.
“It won’t be easy playing against them, they are a good team and playing at home makes them more dangerous but we just want to play our game and get the best out of it,” he said.
Ngezi Platinum will be missing their talisman, Denver Mukamba, who has been a vital cog in the team’s creative hub.
Bosso on the other hand have a clean bill of health with defender Andrew Mbeba back to full fitness.
Another potentially exciting encounter will see Triangle welcoming Dynamos at Gibbo stadium.
Dynamos won their first league match and are still unbeaten in the Chibuku Cup boasting a solid defence while Triangle is equally competent and can destroy any team on its day.
In other matches, newsboys Cranborne Bullets will be hoping to get their first set of three points when they host league returnees Bulawayo City at Sakubva Stadium.
The National Sports Stadium is the venue for the match between Herentals and Black Rhinos while the Yadah – ZPC match at Baobab stadium will conclude Tuesday’s action.
Meanwhile, the Premier Soccer league has announced that the Chibuku Super Cup semifinal between Cranborne Bullets and Ngezi Platinum will be played this Saturday at the National Sports Stadium before the same venue hosts the second semi-final between FC Platinum and Dynamos on Sunday.
