Gems bounce back

The Zimbabwe Netball Team, the Gems bounced back from Thursday’s defeat to Malawi with a convincing 58-39 victory over Tanzania at the ongoing African Netball Championships in Windhoek, Namibia this Friday

The Gems were in a business mood from the onset as they picked up the pieces from the loss to South Africa and Malawi.

Zimbabwe started on the front foot with power play in the first quarter and they continued with the momentum which saw them leading by seven points at the beginning of the second quarter.

In the third quarter the Gems maintained the drive locking the shooting circles to leave Tanzania seventeen points behind.

Zimbabwe went on to hit the last quarter with assured dominance while Tanzania slackened to a slow pace as they watched the clock tick down to a 58-39 victory for Zimbabwe.

The Gems will face another African powerhouse with Uganda lying in wait in the next match set for this Saturday.

Zimbabwe will be hoping to turn the tables after losing to Uganda in the Pent series.
