Zimbabwe is poised to become one of the world’s top producers of steel in the next five years
President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s economic recovery programme is well on course with Mashonaland West Province set to start production of steel next year.
This was revealed by the ZANU PF National Secretary for Science and Technology, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa while addressing the province’s coordinating committee meeting in Chinhoyi this Wednesday.
Next year in December Zimbabwe will be producing steel from Manhize the boundary between Midlands and Mashonaland West this is certain to happen there are major steps already taken towards the success of the project, I am emphasising on steel because it is the corner stone of economic development, he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa also congratulated the President on his fruitful trip to the United Kingdom, saying it reflects the success of the government’s re engagement drive.
I am happy that after the conference, our President board a plane to visit our erstwhile hostile countries. It is a source of great pride it signifies his universal acceptance, he added.
Earlier on, Zanu PF Mashonaland West Acting Chairperson, Cde Abia Munjeri updated the party on the ongoing restructuring exercise.
All the districts elections went on well set for a few were we stopped elections like in Mhondoro Ngezi where the resource persons self-deployed themselves so we hope to complete the exercise at district level this weekend, said Munjeri.
The party is targeting at least five million votes in the 2023 harmonised elections.
