National Pride will be at stake when the Warriors clash with Bafana Bafana in a 2022 World Cup qualifier at the FNB stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa this evening.
The Warriors and Bafana Bafana go into the latest battle of Limpopo with an even record on the head to head statistics.
The old foes have played each other 14 times and notched up six wins apiece, while only two encounters have ended in draws.
Zimbabwe welcomed South Africa back into international football in 1992 with a baptism of fire as they beat the then new boys 4-1 with Peter Ndlovu scoring a brace in the encounter.
Since then, the matches between the two teams have been closer save for the 3-nil defeat the Warriors suffered in 2010.
Ahead of the match which kicks off at 9.pm tonight, Warriors defender Brendan Galloway has rallied his teammates to restore lost pride.
We need a win, football is about results and we need a good one today, yes we are out of the World Cup Qualifiers but we are building for AFCON in January and this is the perfect opportunity for us to start that process, he said.
With the hosts topping group G with ten points and hoping to consolidate their position, the match promises to be a thriller, more so with the warriors looking to restore lost pride.
