Lady Chevrons lose first ODI

The Zimbabwe women national cricket team, the Lady Chevrons got a rude awakening in the first one day international against Bangladesh after going down by eight wickets at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo this Wednesday.

The Lady Chevrons got an early glimpse of the challenges that lie ahead in the World Cup Qualifiers after they were humbled by Bangladesh.

After winning the toss and electing to field, the decision worked well for Bangladesh as they restricted the lady chevrons to a mere 48 runs.

The Tigers reached the easy target in 10.4 overs after losing just two wickets.

The home side coach Adam Chiffon conceded defeat saying it is a wake-up call.

Yes ,it was a heavy defeat for us but we will come back stronger in our next two games and I assure you that tables will be turned, he said.

Meanwhile Bangladesh Team Manager Manjural Islam was on cloud nine after his team’s performance.

The two sides will lock horns again on the 13th and 15th of this month at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
