The Zimbabwe Women National Cricket team, the Lady Chevrons are gearing up for the One Day International Series against Bangladesh which gets underway this Wednesday at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The senior women cricket team will be playing only their second One Day International (ODI) series when they host Bangladesh after their debut series against Thailand last month.
The Lady Chevrons will be hoping to tame the Tigers and get an early confidence boost ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers where the two teams are scheduled to clash in the group stages.
We are happy with our preparations and we take each game as it comes, we will be going through our processes and give ourselves every chance of winning and if we win that would be good for us ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers, said lady Chevrons Captain Mary-Anne Musonda.
Morale is high in camp with one thousand vaccinated fans allowed to watch the matches at Queens Sports Club.
The bilateral series will serve as a preparatory ground for the 50-over World Cup Qualifier to slated for Harare from the 21st of this month to the fifth of December.
The top three teams from the competition will qualify for the ICC Women’s World Cup to be played in New Zealand from the 4th of March next year.
