Warriors start trooping into camp in SA

Zimbabwe Senior National Football Team Players have started trooping into camp ahead of their World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Thursday.

The Warriors are set to play Bafana Bafana at the FNB stadium this Thursday before they conclude their disastrous World Cup qualifying campaign with a date against Ethiopia at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The team is assembling in South Africa for logistical reasons with the local contingent comprising eight players and the technical team having arrived in Johannesburg this Monday afternoon.

The South African based players, Devine Lunga, Kuda Mahachi, Farai Madhanhanga, Knox Mutizwa, Blessing Sarupinda and Khama Billiat who will captain the side in the absence of injured regular skipper Knowledge Musona, have also reported for camp.

Bruce Kangwa who is based in Tanzania and the Zambia based duo of Takudzwa Chimwemwe and Thabani Kamusoko are expected to report for camp this evening.

Marvelous Nakamba, David Moyo and Alex Mudimu who will be flying from Europe are expected to join their teammates this Tuesday morning.

The team is expected to hold two training sessions this Tuesday before having a feel of the match venue on Wednesday ahead of the encounter set for Thursday.

The Warriors anchor Group G with a single point while South Africa is the direct opposite as they sit at the top of the group with 10 points from four matches.
