Gems to clash against regional power house South Africa

THE Zimbabwe Netball team, the Gems, open their Africa Championship Cup against South Africa in Windhoek, Namibia, on Tuesday.

The Gems will need to beef up their squad ahead of the Africa Championship cup which kicks-off this Tuesday, running until the 16th of this month in Windhoek, Namibia.

Zimbabwe will face regional powerhouse South Africa in their opening match on Tuesday.

The SPAR Proteas are ranked fifth in the world having won medals twice at the World Cup, first with a third place finish in 1967 and later being runners-up to Australia in 1995.

Tanzania face Uganda, Botswana square off with hosts Namibia, while Zambia will take on Malawi.

The Africa Championship Cup will also assist to prepare the Gems for the 2023 Netball World Cup slated for South Africa.
