State of Industry and Commerce Survey ready

By Davison Vandira

THE Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) is putting final touches to the State of Industry and Commerce Survey earmarked to strengthen policy initiatives under the national economic development agenda.

The need to solidify the current trajectory with respect to economic stability and development has seen the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) developing a National Industry and Commerce Survey set to be unveiled later this month.

Zimbabwe has been relying on business indices externally generated but the incoming Industry and Commerce Survey is set to change the status quo as it is internally generated for the purpose of shaping the country’s policies.

ZNCC Chief Executive Officer Christopher Mugaga believes the survey results will help to craft home grown solutions to local challenges as opposed to relying on business data from outside the country.

“As ZNCC we have realised that we have been over relying on business indices generated from outside the country hence we have decided to come up with our own industry and commerce indices that will speak to our needs.”

According to economists and recent surveys, Zimbabwe is making huge strides in strengthening key institutions that support the country’s economic development thrust.
