THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League roars into life this Friday with Harare City and Herentals getting the ball rolling.

Clubs are raring to battle it out in the Castle Lager PSL season after being out of action for nearly two years, with the Chibuku Super Cup having filled the void.

The beautiful game returns at a time when a maximum of two thousand fully vaccinated fans is now allowed to watch matches.

The long wait is indeed over with Harare City and Herentals getting the ball rolling in a contest set for the National Sports Stadium this Friday.

The two clubs will also be hoping for a change of fortune after they were booted out of the Chibuku Super Cup which is now at the semi-final stage.

Harare City head coach Lloyd Chitembwe is confident of victory despite a few injuries and suspensions.

“Of course injuries we do have, we equally have suspensions also but I think we have a decent number of quality players, I don’t think we have serious concerns over that we happy to also give allow other guys who did not participate more in the Chibuku competition but all the same it just doesn’t take away the responsibility and making sure we get the results,” said Lloyd Chitembwe, Harare City coach.

On the other hand, Herentals Head Coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva expects a good start.

“A good start is the main target for us against Harare City the squad is healthy everyone is geared for the game so the selection is on us this is very good for us we once played against Harare city in the Chibuku super cup so it’s going to be a difficult game as we’re underdogs we have to fight and have a good start of the season,” said Mutiwekuziva.

The action continues on Saturday with FC Platinum hosting new boys Tenax at Mandava, ZPC Kariba have a date against Caps United at Nyamhunga, Cranborne Bullets travel to Luveve to play Chicken Inn, while Black Rhinos clash with Highlanders at the National Sports Stadium.

The last match of the day on Saturday will feature Ngezi Platinum and Bulawayo City at Baobab.

On Sunday, Dynamos host Yadah at the National Sports Stadium, Bulawayo Chiefs have home advantage against Triangle at Luveve while Manica Diamonds play Whawha at Sakubva.
