Zimbabwe’s Private Sector delegation which travelled to Dubai for the Expo 2020 is optimistic of increasing the country’s export base after clinching various deals with some buyers at the world exhibition.
The outward mission by Zimbabwe’s private sector was premised on expanding the existing export base for the country, with the Middle East being targeted as it offers a lucrative market for a variety of local organic products.
The delegation held business meetings with international buyers at the Expo and managed to sell Brand Zimbabwe through various products.
We went to Dubai Expo 2020 as the private sector to try and expand our business horizons and it was a successful trip as we managed to coin some deals worth 20 million United States dollars and we will be following up on this deals, Mr Denford Mutashu, President Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers
Industrialist Mr Zak Hawa expressed optimism at the business opportunities availed by the expo.
As Industrialists we were charmed with opportunities that exist out there and we are ready to tap into that and generate foreign currency for the country to benefit,he said
Zimbabwe continues to witness more collaboration between the private sector and government in shaping the country’s economic destiny, a key ingredient for successful economies.
